Rainy Night

I walk or run almost every morning for two reasons - the exercise and it's my clearest time with God. I can feel His presence on the Faith Home campus and hear His voice clearly as the sun rises over the mountains. I cherish that time before the world awakes as I replenish my soul and feel God's peace in my heart. Tonight as I went out to grab my sheets off the line, I stopped and listened to the sounds of the night in the drizzling rain. I quickly put my sheets inside and ran back out to soak up the peaceful rain. I walked the loop of the campus and felt God's calmness through the rain and the darkness. Truly the presence of the Lord is in this place!

The past few months have been amazing! I have had moments where it seems everyone needs something at the same time and then one of the kids will throw their arms around my neck and kiss my cheek and I have a calmness in the midst of the chaos. I have had moments of missing my family, when suddenly my living room is filled with laughing children to comfort my heart. I marvel at God's sovereignty as I hold a baby in my arms or talk to one of the teenagers about their future outside of Faith Home. Today as I doctored a cut foot, I looked down into the big brown eyes of a little boy who trusted me to make it all better. I cherish those moments.

My heart overflows with love for the children of Faith Home. The more I get to know them and learn their very unique personalities, the more I love them. I see God working in their lives and am so proud of the amazing young men and women they are becoming.

Team season is over, the campus is quiet tonight and I stop to reflect. I am thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of the ministry of Faith Home in Honduras. I am thankful for loving, supportive family and friends. I am thankful for the precious children God has entrusted me with...I am thankful.

GOD is good, HIS plan is perfect and HE holds the children of Faith Home (and me) in the palm of His hand.
